Last Game: North Carolina fell in the ACC Tournament Championship game to Miami 77-87.  Miami

Last Meeting: The last time these two teams met was also in the NCAA Tournament, only under much more intense circumstances as North Carolina defeated Villanova, 83-69, on Apr. 4, 2009 in the Final Four in Detroit.  Ty Lawson led with 22 points and eight assists, Wayne Ellington also scored 20 in the contest and the Tar Heels went onto win the 2009 national championship.
