Two local prospects were in attendance during North Carolina’s win over the Virginia Cavaliers. Power Forward Harry Giles of the 2016 class and small forward Brandon Ingram of the 2015 class took in the Tar Heels 93-81 victory at the Dean Dome.
Giles of Winston-Salem, NC stands 6-8 and weighs in at 205 lbs is already one of the best high school players in the state and a force nationally. Teammates with UNC target Theo Pinson, some would argue that Giles is the best of the two already. Giles has a polished post game and can really handle the basketball. A high basketball IQ and the ability to do just about anything he wants to on the offensive end.
Ingram of Kinston, NC stands 6-5 and weighs 165 lbs is a rising four star sophomore. Ingram has been compared to current Tar Heel Reggie Bullock who also hails from Kinston. Ingram is a defensive minded player who can block shots with great skill and timing. Ingram can also get to the basket with great skill. Ingram’s stock is rising but he still has a long ways to go in rounding out his skill set and becoming a complete player.
Neither player has an offer yet from Carolina but it’s very early in the process and these are two prospects to keep a close eye on.
