Andrew Wiggins has cut his list and will take official visits to Kentucky, Kansas and North Carolina. Keeping It Heel reported early this morning after confirming with Wiggins’ high school coach that he was targeting March 9th as his visit date to Chapel Hill when the Tar Heels face Duke.
Ohio State and Syracuse have been eliminated from Wiggins’ list. Wiggins has already visited Florida State in early December during a blowout loss, both of his parents attended FSU and the Seminoles along with Kentucky have been rumored to be the favorites for quite some time. Wiggins and his high school coach have insisted that his recruitment is wide open and that no favorites exist despite the rumors.
The tentative visit dates are February 27th at Kentucky when the Wildcats face Mississippi State, March 3rd at Kansas when the Jayhawks face West Virginia and March 9th for the season finale when the Tar Heels face the Duke Blue Devils.
Getting the last visit could end up being huge for UNC, especially considering how much more exciting the match up with Duke is compared to the other games Wiggins will witness. Wiggins and his people have kept most of his recruiting news close to the vest and it will be very interesting to see how this all plays out for the #1 prospect in the 2013 class.
