Miami Heat starts LeBron James and Dwayne Wade sat court side in the BackUnited Center in Miami to watch the Hurricanes massacre North Carolina 87-61. The two stars were met with a thunderous ovation as they arrived fashionably late.
Neither player attended the University of Miami with James picked #1 in the NBA Draft right out of high school. Wade attended Marquette. James is a big time sports fan often tweeting about and attending games of his favorite professional teams the Dallas Cowboys and New York Yankees. He’s also stood on the sidelines for several Ohio State football games and has often stated that would have been his college choice if he were playing under today’s NBA rules which forces players to wait at least one year after their high school class graduates to enter the league.
Although neither player has an official affiliation with the program it’s easy to see why both would want to take in this team. Miami is in the middle of a historic season for the program with their 10-0 start in conference play. Their current #8 national ranking is the best in the programs history and that history will be rewritten on Monday after several teams in the top 10 lost this week as Miami continued to roll.
