ACC Basketball Four Corners: Triangle State of Affairs

One:  Shame on you. Yes you who said the Heels were dead after losing to NC State two weeks ago.  North Carolina can go on the road and with a win be within two games of first place Miami.  Winning on the road has not been the Tar heels forte and they could use old number 40’s mid range scoring ability to pull off the upset.  Reggie Bullock and James Michael McAdoo have solid performances against the bottom half in the ACC and North Carolina needs a big time performance against conference unbeaten Miami.

Two: NC State is done without Lorenzo Brown. Tyler Lewis has played admirably in Brown’s absence, but the fast break just isn’t the same without their veteran leader. Mark Gottfried can give all the coach speak he wants about Purvis and Warren helping handle the basketball but putting this into practice effectively in the ACC just is not the same.

Three: Marcus Paige looked like a deer in headlights the last time we saw him in a big game on the road, but the freshman point guard has settled down playing smarter on both ends of the floor.  Shane Larkin is one of the best in the ACC, but Paige is primed for a big breakout game on the road.

Four: If you are one of the Duke fans who chanted “How’s your grandma” to Tyler Lewis I am uncertain how you were able to qualify at an institution such as Duke. Shame on you! I know not every Duke fan behaves this way and if that happened at the Smith Center they should be thrown out immediately.
