Johnathan Howard chose to play for Larry Fedora at UNC over Clemson and Louisville. Howard becomes the seventh player to sign their LOI today with UNC.
Howard a three star wide receiver chose North Carolina after visiting this fall. The Rochelle, Georgia product had over 1600 yards on 115 receptions this past season. At 6-5 and 195 pounds the speedy wide receiver could make a impact early even with a deep core of receivers at UNC.
Howard joins a recruiting class that includes Jordan Fieulleteau and Ryan Switzer with Switzer being an A back type player. The Tar Heels have talent at the Wide receiver position, but depth in that area is something Larry fedora wanted to improve. Quinshad Davis returns as a number one target, but the loss of Mookie Highsmith opens up playing time opportunities for some younger Tar heels to see the field. TJ Thorpe returns from injury and Sean Tapley showed some explosive play ability, but with the offense averaging over 80 plays a game there are plenty of reps for receivers to see the field.
