Football Recruiting: RB T.J. Logan Signs LOI With North Carolina

Four star Running back T.J. Logan out of Greensboro, NC has signed his letter of intent to play college football for the North Carolina Tar Heels.

Logan chose to play for Larry Fedora at UNC pledging his verbal commitment to the program in July over Auburn, California, Clemson, N.C. State, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Wake Forest and West Virginia.

Logan is a huge in state get for Carolina; he set state records with a 510 yard, eight touchdown performance in the North Carolina 3AA state championship game.  Logan is ranked as the fourth best running back in the 2013 class by Rivals and the 87th overall prospect.  Logan who put together a terrific overall season rushed for 3,146 yards and 47 touchdowns in 2012, and he also caught 22 passes for 276 yards and five touchdowns.  He was named the AP Player of the Year in the state of North Carolina.

Although Logan was a huge piece of Carolinas recruiting class his commitment did not come as much of a surprise.  After going on a few visits early in the year Logan did not visit any other school other than UNC after February 18th before committing in July.

This makes 12 signees for UNC so far?  Khris Fancis a three star prospect out of Durham, NC is the only other RB in this class for Carolina.  Star RB Giovani Bernard declared for the NFL Draft leaving a big hole in the offense and a great opportunity for Logan to make an immediate impact.  The freshman will compete with sophomore Romar Morris and senior A.J. Blue for playing time and a starting role.  Last season despite having Bernard one of the best RBs in the nation Fedora found playing time and carries for all three backs and I expect that to continue this season.
