Lucas Crowley has signed his letter of intent to play college football for the North Carolina Tar Heels. Crowley is ranked as the 20th best player at his position and one of the top centers in the South.
Crowley chose to play for Larry Fedora at UNC over South Carolina, Tennesse and West Viginia.
Crowley camped with Tennessee and visited UNC over the summer unofficially. He was impressed with the campus the coaches and the overall atmosphere at North Carolina. He committed to the Tar Heels in July. A follow up visit cemented his decision to come to Chapel Hill.
This is the third player to sign for UNC. The Tar Heels are solid at the center position with veteran Russell Bodine anchoring the offensive line, but with offensive linemen Bodine has been hurt a couple times with a need for a quality back up. Crowley is one of the top centers in the south and after watching Barrett Jones control Notre Dames point of attack this is a big pick up for UNC and Coach Larry Fedora.
