Football Recruiting: Brian Walker signs LOI with North Carolina

Today Larry Fedora and the North Carolina Tar Heels get another big recruit to their already stellar class in four star CB Brian Walker.  Walker is the fourth to sign his LOI already today.  Brian Walker a 5’11 180 pound defensive back out of Charlotte North Carolina signed his letter of intent at his high school Mallard Creek.  This is the (insert number here) recruit to sign for the Tar Heels today!

Brian Walker picked the Tar Heels over various ACC and SEC schools including in state rival North Carolina State and the 2010 National Champion Auburn Tigers.  Walkers final list consisted of Auburn, NC State, and Minnesota. Assistant coach Gunter Brewer was the main recruiter for Brian and helped secure a verbal commitment from the senior.  One of the competing recruiters was ex North Carolina coach Tommy Thigpen.

Walker was offered February of last year and committed that March.  Walker just recently took his first official visit the 18th this year to seal the deal and see exactly how he will live his everyday life.  Walker really loved the atmosphere UNC had to offer and could see himself playing there.  Walker had plans to  visit other schools in the past but Walker still stayed firm with the Tar Heels.  Walker joins Donnie Miles as a definite secondary commit and we’ll have a chance to make an instant impact.  The secondary is young and had it’s struggles last year.  Look for Walker to use his instinct and coverage skills to come in and play early.
