UNC Football: Tar Heels Complete a Huge Week of Recruiting Visits

This was a big week on the recruiting front for both the football and basketball programs at the University of North Carolina.  Head coaches Roy Williams and Larry Fedora worked overtime to sell the school, tradition and themselves and everything else in between to potential future Tar Heels.

In the most publicized visits Roy Williams traveled to Texas for an in home visit with 2014 five star small forward Justin Jackson for an in home visits that reportedly went well in which the coach and player discussed future visits to Chapel Hill for the junior star.  Although UNC is not pushing hard yet for a commitment from Jackson they appear to be in very good position with him.

Fellow 2014 star point guard Joel Berry of Florida took the trip north to take in the UNC vs Maryland game in the Dean Dome for a weekend official visit.  With Shelton Mitchell who appeared to be the Heels fallback option at the PG position in the 2014 class committing to Wake Forest the Heels put on all stops for Berry who received a standing ovation and heard his name being chanted throughout the Dean Smith Center crowd so loud he stood and acknowledged the crowd during an early TV timeout.

The highest profile football recruits visiting were wide receiver Marquez North who is considering Carolina and Tennessee was also in attendance at the Maryland game and heard his name being chanted by a recruiting enthusiastic Tar Heel crowd.   North was joined by four star JUCO defensive tackle Jarran Reed who is currently committed to Ole Miss to headline the football visitors from an uncommitted standpoint.  Below is a list of all the visitors.
