No. 11 UNC Women Topple Georgia Tech, 79-58
Redshirt freshman Megan Buckland came off the bench and led No. 11 North Carolina (17-1, 5-0 ACC) to a 79-58 win against Georgia Tech (8-8, 1-4 ACC) in Carmichael Arena on Sunday. The guard’s 19 points marked a career-high for Buckland, while her five three-pointers also set a personal best. (GoHeels.com)

North Carolina needed an edge on the road in Tallahassee and they discovered on the backboard dominating the glass with 41 rebounds to Florida States 19. Florida State has the reputation over the years of being tough defensively and dominate on the backboards. P.J. Hairston scored a career-high 23 points to lead UNC to a 77-72 win at Florida State on Jan. 12, 2013, in the Tucker Center in Tallahassee. Hairston set a career high for field goals, shooting 9 for 14 from the floor, and hit 4 of 9 three-point tries. He also grabbed four rebounds in 28 minutes. Closing Strong

North Carolina Basketball: Victory over FSU Marks Turning Point for Tar Heels
North Carolina basketball isn’t dead, folks. With the 77-72 win over Florida State, the Tar Heels showed they aren’t ready to just roll over. In a game filled with potential breaking points, the team never snapped. And for the first time this season, it gave 100 percent effort for the entire 40 minutes.
