UNC Recruiting Tidbits

The Tar Heels basketball and football programs have been extremely active on the recruiting front and it’s been a great week to be a Carolina fan.

2014 small forward Justin Jackson announced via his twitter account that he is down to six schools and included UNC in his list among Arizona, Ohio State, Texas A&M, Virginia, and Washington.  UNC head coach Roy Williams was in Texas Tuesday night to watch Jackson square off against Justise Winslow another prospect weighing an offer from North Carolina.  Both players shined with Jackson putting up 34 points in the victory while Winslow put up 24 points, Winslow played limited minutes due an injury making his performance all that more impressive.

On the gridiron two UNC commitments in the 2013 class running back T.J. Logan and wide receiver Jordan Fieulleteau were named Max Preps All-Americans.  2014 five star defensive end Da’Shawn Hand cut his list to five and included UNC among Alabama, Michigan,South Carolina and Virginia Tech.

A few players from Larry Fedoras 2013 class have already arrived at campus Jordan Fieulleteau, Khris Francis, R.J. Prince and Mitch Trubisky all moved into Chapel Hill recently.

In the this probably doesn’t matter but I’m going to mention it anyway category, the nations #1 player Andrew Wiggins has some UNC cups in the background of his twitter profile picture. This article once again affirms what I have been saying for months, that it is wide open for Wiggins’ services, don’t get me wrong, I don’t think the Heels are the favorites, I just believe him and his coach when they say UK and FSU aren’t either.

Roy Williams may also be close to offering 2014 five star shooting guard Rashad Vaughn.  Roy has been down to visit him recently and Vaughn was quoted as saying that UNC was supposed to offer but Roy had to leave and he wants to sit down with him and his parents to formally make the offer.
