And the hits keep on coming. Tar Heel sixth man and three point specialist Leslie McDonald will miss tonight’s game against Miami with a tweaked knee. McDonald is averaging 8.4 ppg for the Tar Heels this season and is shooting 43% from three point land. According to Jeannine Edwards, Leslie tweaked his knee that he had surgery on to repair a torn ACL that sidelined him all of the 2011-2012 season. There have been no indications as to how serious the injury is, but it’s not a surprise that Roy Williams would want to be extra cautious with one of his only upperclassman.
This marks the second injury of the season for North Carolina the first being when Reggie Bullock missed the UNLV game with a minor concussion two weeks ago. There has been no report on how long McDonald will be out or whether or not he will be available for the Florida State game on Saturday afternoon in Tallahassee.
G Leslie McDonald will not play tonight for UNC, he's tweaked the knee he had surgery on last year. #MIAvsUNC
