UNC Basketball Recruiting: Tar Heels Offer 2015 PF Ivan Rabb

By now most have heard that North Carolina head coach Roy Williams has made his first official offer in the 2015 class offering five star power forward Ivan Rabb.

Rabb is a consensus five star prospect rated as the #1 player at his position by most services and fits Carolinas style of play perfectly.  At 6-9 200 pounds, Rabb has some bulk to put on his frame if he intends on playing the post at the collegiate level but has plenty of time to do so.

Rabb can really run the floor and shows a lot of explosion near the basket and can finish well in traffic.  He needs to develop his game with his back to the basket but has plenty of other offensive skills in the half court to lean on during the rest of his high school days.  Rabb has tremendous upside with plenty of room to grow physically and on both ends of the court.  Similar to Isiah Hicks, Rabb is very athletic, can score and excels at getting to the basket.

I expect many fans close to the programs history will question Roy offering a kid from California after the Larry Drew and Wear twins experience but personally I am encouraged that those events didn’t hold Roy back from recruiting players that fit the system from the left coast.

Rabb currently holds offers from Arizona, California, NC State, and UNLV, in addition to UNC.
