UNC Football Recruiting: TJ Logan Earns AP NC Player of the Year Honors

T.J. Logan the electric running back who will be one of the big pieces North Carolina Tar Heels head coach Larry Fedora will lean on heavily in the 2013 season to replace Giovani Bernard has been named the Player of the Year in the state of North Carolina.

Logan who put together a terrific overall season rushed for 3,146 yards and 47 touchdowns in 2012, and he also caught 22 passes for 276 yards and five touchdowns.   He set a state record when he went for an amazing 510 yards and eight touchdowns in one game this season.  Logan was selected by a panel of journalists who cover high school football in North Carolina. Logan received 12 of 17 votes.

Logan will get a chance to make an impact as a freshman this season with Bernard one of the best RBs in Carolina history exiting early after his red shirt sophomore season to entire the NFL Draft.  Keeping It Heel staff writer Ben Williams recently highlighted Logan and had this to say about the four star local prospect and future Tar Heel:

This guy is good, I mean this guy is 5 Star good. I mean take it to the house every time he touches it potential. TJ Logan people that is who I am talking about. He can do it all, run, catch, and even play in the defensive backfield (though don’t expect to see him on defense at UNC).  Think Romar Morris speed with a ton more wiggle.
