Well, everyone can finally calm down! The rumors were rumors and Larry Fedora is not going anywhere but Kenan Stadium.
The University of Tennessee has found their next coach and it is Butch Jones from Cincinnati that will be taking the reigns of the Volunteers.
It seemed like nobody wanted the job. There were so many people named to be on the shortlist for the job, but then, nobody really bit at the offers. Granted the school is under some penalties from Lane Kiffin, but still Tennessee is one of the historic and most successful teams in college football that plays in the most successful college football conference.
Jones will be formally introduced later this afternoon. He rejected the offer from Colorado and has agreed to a six year contract with Tennessee.
As for North Carolina and the Tar Heels…we better get used to being a part of the rumor mill. You know Bubba Cunningham made a good hire when Fedora’s name is running around the rumor mill. While it scares fans and the players, it shows the strength and the potential Fedora really has as a coach.
Fedora has not commented on the rumors this past week, but did inform recruits Wednesday before telling the team Thursday that he does not have any plans of leaving Chapel Hill anytime soon.
