Dorian Miller a 6’2”, 285 lbs offensive lineman from Metuchen NJ one of the top-ranked recruits from the tri-state, will announce his college commitment live from the set of MSG Varsity’s “A Quick: 60” tonight Tuesday, November 20 at 8:00pm ET. Miller has narrowed his choices down to the University of Connecticut, University of North Carolina and Rutgers University.
Miller is a four star lineman who currently plays tackle in high school but is expected to slide inside to guard at the next level regardless of which school he chooses tonight. He also plays defensive line and made 59 tackles, including three sacks, as a junior but is not expected to play defense in college.
Rated as the #22 guard and 13th best prospect in the state of NJ by ESPN, Miller would be the first guard to commit to Carolina in the 2013 class. He would join tackle RJ Prince and center Lucas Crowley as other offensive lineman committed to UNC if he chooses the Tar Heels.
Miller decided to focus on football after capturing the US Freestyle Wrestling national title in Iowa for his age group and had defended his state title for the Metuchen Grapplers. Miller’s broth Dejuan is a senior at Oklahoma.
Adding a guard would be a smart move for Larry Fedora as he looks to finalize his already impressive 2013 recruiting class. The Tar Heels have a very impressive offensive line which has surrendered the fewest sacks in the ACC and paved the way for arguably the nations best running back Giovani Bernard. Jonathan Cooper one of the best lineman in the country is set to graduate and will be a top NFL pick and one that will be very tough to replace on the Heels offensive line.
My instinct says he picks Rutgers, Miller cancelled his official visit to Chapel Hill so signs point to him committing elsewhere but crazier things have happened.
