A lot of questions surround the 2012-13 North Carolina Tar Heels and since we’ve spent the entire off season breaking them down and feeding you our opinion, we felt it was time to take the pulse of Tar Heel Nation on the biggest questions heading into the season. First up is maybe the most important of all, how will James Michael McAdoo handle the expectations of becoming the next superstar to don the Carolina Blue?
McAdoo has been named to the pre-season ACC first team by the league media, dubbed a pre-season All-America by The Sporting News, listed as one of the 10 most important players in the nation by ESPN.com. And CBSSports.com called him the top breakout player in the country.
Those are some hefty expectations for a player who averaged just three career starts and averages of 6.1 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in 15.6 minutes. McAdoo’s tremendous athleticism that made him the two time Team USA player of the year and one of the most sought after recruits in the 2011 class to go along with a great finish to his freshman season have expectations in Chapel Hill high.
If you’ve paid any attention to the site this off season then you know that I expect McAdoo to make good on all this hype and become a big time player in his sophomore season. What do you think?
