Poll: What do You Expect from the UNC Tar Heels this Season?

The expectations of the 2012-13 North Carolina Tar Heels is wide ranging whether you are discussing the topic with fans or hearing what analysis and “experts” have to say.  Some are adamant that UNC will surprise in the ACC and prove that they can win in a different way than we are used to with a perimeter dominant team.

Others are most skeptical and don’t buy the notion that sophomore big man James Michael McAdoo will blossom into a superstar and that Marcus Paige can really lead this team as a freshman are the most common knocks I’ve heard.  Ranked #12 in the pre-season top 25 poll but picked by most to finish third in the ACC.  Things will absolutely be different this season with the losses of Tyler Zeller, John Henson, Harrison Barnes and Kendall Marshall.

The impact of the freshman class will be counted on more this upcoming season than any in a while and many question if the class of Paige, Brice Johnson, JP Tokoto and Joel James can in fact step in and play right away at a high level.  Roy Williams is also counting on several returning players to play much larger roles than they were in last season.  Reggie Bullock, PJ Hairston and Desmond Hubert will all be counted on to play more minutes, Bullock especially is being counted on to be a star.

Another major question is how Dexter Strickland and Leslie McDonald will comeback from season ending ACL injuries.   Nobody with any credibility is going to question that this is a talented team.  At the same time, nobody in their right mind can ignore the stack of questions surrounding this group.

So how do you think the 2012-13 season will turn out for the Heels?
