UNC Basketball Recruiting: Isiah Hicks Preparing for 2013 Chapel Hill Debut

Over the summer and leading into his senior season, Isaiah Hicks is already preparing himself for the fall of 2013 when he arrives in Chapel Hill. The 6’8, 185 lb power forward from Oxford, NC (J.F. Webb High School) has been making some improvements to his game as well as his frame. He’s working to polish every aspect of his game from low post moves to his mid-range jump shot. He’s also been trying to add more muscle and weight to his 185 body frame.

Hicks is a great talent that has a good skill set with great up side. He runs the floor extremely well and can finish in transition. He’s very athletic with long arms, rebounds the ball well and causes disruption around the rim as a shot blocker. He has a great mid-range shot that is consistent.

Hicks is a mixture of a John Henson and Rasheed Wallace. I can see Hicks in a Carolina uniform for at least 3 years, giving us a good low post threat for years to come. With players such as a Rasheed Wallace returning to Chapel Hill from time to time to work out with the current Heels can do wonders for Hicks once he’s on board.

I feel Isaiah Hicks is a great get for UNC and someone I feel will be a vital part to the team immediately.
