UNC Basketball Recruiting: Jabari Parker Cuts List, Eliminates Tar Heels

Jabari Parker has cut his list to five and eliminated North Carolina.  BYU, Duke, Michigan St and Florida made his final list according to ESPN.  Parker becomes the latest to cut UNC after Julius Randle cut them earlier this week.  Keeping It Heel will have much more on this story as it develops.

Parker is rated by many as the #1 prospect in the nation.  This is not a surprising development like that of Randle.  Parker has been rumored to be favoring Duke and Michigan State.

i really think focusing on guys that only plan on being in college one year is a mistake. real championship programs like ours have always been driven by upperclassman, guys that are quality players, but know they have a long way to go before becoming pros at any level. Guys like Derrick Phelps, Eric Montross, Tyler Hansbrough and Hubert Davis won big for us, and frankly were more memorable and loved than guys that came in, did a year or two and bolted. Marvin Williams was a nice player and all, but 4 years watching Hubert Davis grow into a great player and win big games while doing it was a far more lasting and cherished memory. I don’t have a problem with guys leaving early, just guys that have left early before they even got here.
