I’m pretty sure that Nate Britt wasn’t too satisfied with his junior season performance last year at Gonzaga College High School and is looking to bounce back to the Nate Britt of his sophomore season and summer. His junior season brought some ups and downs — which aren’t unheard of — but following a remarkable summer he had in 2011 at the NBPA Top 100 Camp, people were lead to believe that Britt was set to take-off in his junior season — that was the case for the most part. An injured calf that he suffered could have played a role in slowing his production down amongst other things.
The excitement and pizazz that you find in a blue-chip point guard wasn’t displayed, causing Britt to fall 30-40 spots in most national rankings. Was this in large part to the fact of committing to Carolina early and maybe thinking he could cruise his way through no that his college decision was in the books?
I’m expecting to see improvements and more excitement from Britt this coming season at Oak Hill. With transferring I believe this will give him a taste of what’s to come for him on the collegiate level next fall. Britt is a true point guard who’s a great distributor of the ball, but can also score as well. This is such a luxury in having a guy of this nature.
With a change of scenery and surroundings, look for Nate to shine and have success in his senior season at Oak Hill as he makes his transition to Chapel Hill in the fall of 2013.
