UNC Basketball: Leslie McDonald aka "L-Mac" is back for the 2012-2013 season!

The last time I saw Leslie McDonald play was in the Elite 8 game versus Kentucky in 2011. Leslie was my favorite player on that time. My position in basketball is the shooting guard position. This is one reason why I like L-Mac. Two, he was instant offense off the bench. Three, Duke wanted L-Mac also, but Roy ganked him from Coach K. Four, he wore the Carolina blue Retro 2 Jordan’s that I wanted for a long time.

I actually ended up getting them, and when Carolina beats Duke, my fiance’ has to wear these Carolina blue J’s, a Carolina basketball jersey, Carolina basketball shorts, and a Carolina hat or headband. I guess you figured out that she likes dook (this misspelling is intentional, that is for members of Tar Heel Nation). My favorite reason for why I like L-Mac so much as because be continued the pre-game dancing tradition that Danny Green started. Danny is another one of my favorite Tar Heels, as well. During the 2011 season, L-Mac did his thing before each game. In fact, there were a few away games where L-Mac cut the rug.

As for his talent, from what I here Leslie played quite well at the NC Pro-Am Summer League in Durham, North Carolina this past summer. L will have a hard time cracking the starting lineup; however, I expect for him to average between 20 to 25 minutes a game. His sharpshooting will be very important to the success of this year’s basketball team. I like to think of L-Mac as the best shooter on the team; however, I cannot knock my new favorite player, Reggie Bullock. Both of them are pure shooters, and both of them will be “zone busters.” Leslie is one of the veteran players on this team. Like Dexter Strickland, Leslie played on the 2009-2010 team that endured one of the worst seasons in Carolina basketball. Some of the bright spots during that season was the emergence of chemistry between Dexter Strickland, Leslie McDonald, John Henson, and Tyler Zeller.

If you plan (or do not plan) to be in the Chapel Hill area during the weekend of October 12th, 2012, come check out Leslie McDonald “do what he do like he do it for TV” during Late Night w/Roy. Will he dance during this event? Yes. Will he be “all net” also known “being wet” from the 3-point line? Yes. Will he be an integral part of this Final Four team? Triple Yes.
