UNC Football Gameday: Idaho, Predict the Outcome

It’s game day Tar Heel Nation!  The North Carolina Tar Heels square off with the Idaho Vandals at Kenan Stadium today at 3:30 PM. The Heels will look to improve their record to 3-2 after last weeks convincing 27-6 win over East Carolina.

UNC pulled to a .500 record last week after two consecutive devastating losses to Wake Forest and Louisville by a combined six points.  Carolina started off this season strong with a dominating 62-0 victory over Elon Phoenix in new head coach Larry Fedoras Chapel Hill debut.

The road got a little bumpy after the opening week victory, UNC has had played like two completely different teams.  At times, the team has looked like a group struggling to come together and play under the new schemes employed by Fedora and the new coaching staff.  Others, the team has played some very encouraging football, mostly in the second halves of the last three contests.

The Heels have showed they can be a very tough team to handle when they limit the mental mistakes and play fast football.   Offensively the team welcomed back star running back Giovani Bernard last week after sitting out the two previous games stemming from an injury he suffered in the first half of the season opener.   Defensively the team has struggled with mental lapses in the secondary and an inconsistent pass rush up front.  Cornerback Jabari Price came up big last week winning the ACC award for the top defensive back in the conference for his play against ECU.

Which team will we see on the field today against Idaho?  It’s time for you to decide.
