Jabari Parker is the latest to set up his in-home visits and will meet with a total of eight programs over the next few weeks. Roy Williams has been very busy lately as he attempts to finish out the 2013 class and lay the groundwork for the 2014 class during this recruiting period. Williams reportedly did an outstanding job recently with his in-home visit with power forward Julius Randle and has an in-home with 2013 center Kennedy Meeks next week.
Parker, now rated the #2 overall prospect in the class after sitting out much of the summer with an injury and was subsequently passed by power forward Julius Randle. Florida, DePaul, BYU and Kansas will meet with Parker this week. The following week, North Carolina, Michigan State and Duke will meet with Parker. The week after that, Stanford is set to make a trip to visit him.
Georgetown and Stanford do not have visits schedule yet but are on the 6 foot 8 inch superstars list. Parker’s recruiting process has been one of a lot of mystery so far. Many believe that Parker will remain close to his hometown of Chicago. He also has a very strong relationship with coach K of Duke and has made several trips to Stanfords campus.
Carolina’s top priority in the class is Julius Randle and they have pulled out all the stops to land him, but they haven’t ignored Parker by any means. Roy has made the trip to watch Parker play in Chicago many times over the last year and he was offered very early in the process. Right now it’s anybody’s game in my eyes and although UNC isn’t viewed as the “favorite” by any means, don’t be shocked to see Parker in Carolina Blue one day. The one thing I find a bit odd here, Kentucky not being on his list, when’s the last time a top prospect like Parker wasn’t at least considering going to Lexington?
Where do you think Jabari Parker will end up?
