Power forward Isaac Copeland is receiving a lot of attention from the North Carolina Tar Heels. The four star power forward out of Charlottesville, VA does not have an offer yet from Roy Williams and the Heels but they have been watching him closely. Copeland recently visited the Tar Heels and described the visit as amazing.
Keeping It Heel recently caught up with Isaac and he was nice enough to answer some questions about his recruiting process and upcoming season.
Keeping It Heel: You had a terrific summer coming off the knee injury. Can you talk about the process you went through with the injury and where your at now with it.
Isaac Copeland: I got injured right before last high school season. It was very tough to deal with because I felt like I had improved a lot and was planning on having a big year.
I came back a little after Christmas break and saw limited minutes which was even harder to deal with but I stuck with it and kept working and my hard work payed off some this summer.
KIH: What aspects of your game are you focusing on improving this upcoming season?
IC: Im really focusing on getting stronger, ball handling, and getting quicker feet.
KIH: You are currently ranked as a four star prospect by most recruiting services. Do you measure yourself against other prospects and what do you think of your ranking?
IC: I don’t think too much about rankings it’s nice for other people to see but to me I’m the same person as I was before i became ranked so I don’t really pay attention to those things.
KIH: How did you visit to Chapel Hill and what did you take away about UNCs program?
IC: My visit was nice I liked every thing I saw and so did my family. I can really tell that UNC’s program has a lot of tradition and is proud of that tradition. Also former players are still active in the program which is something I thought was cool as well.
KIH: Do you have a list right now? I count 12 known offers including: Appalachian State, Boston College, Buffalo, Charlotte, East Carolina, Fairfield, NC State, St. Joseph’s, Virginia, West Virginia, West Kentucky and Winthrop. Did I miss any?
IC: I don’t have a list right now and i also have offers from Houston, Tulsa, Auburn, and Rutgers.
