Trying to get to know a new offense, defense and coaching staff has literally been a whirlwind experience for the North Carolina football team. What’s it like to be Kennedy Meeks?

Sometime in the next week or so, Charlotte, N.C. center Kennedy Meeks, one of the top 30 recruits in the Class of 2013, will narrow his list of schools to five, start taking official visits, and ultimately make the decision about where he will go to college. UNC remains high on his list; heck, one of his mom’s favorite pictures is of a tiny Meeks looking up at a life-sized cut-out of Michael Jordan (his great-grandma won it for him in a raffle). ESPN

Schedule Preview: N.C. State

Without the opportunity to play in the postseason this fall, North Carolina’s biggest game of the season comes on Oct. 27 when N.C. State travels to Chapel Hill. The banter between fans has intensified over the past two years and five straight wins by the Wolfpack in the series make this rivalry as intense as ever. IC

Justise Winslow Offered By UNC

North Carolina Tar Heels head coach Roy Williams made his fourth offer in the 2014 class offering a scholarship to Justise Winslow a 6-6, 210 pound five star prospect out of Houston, TX. KIH

ACC In The Majors, August 1

Former Tar Heel Matt Harvey had an electric debut for the Mets, striking out 11, giving up only three hits and hitting a single and a double. He set the franchise record for strikeouts in a debut, and he’s the first pitcher since 1900 to get two hits and strike out more than 10 in his first game. For his performance, Harvey earned the Big Apple Player of the Week award. ACC Sports Journal
