Mar 22, 2012; St. Louis, MO, USA; North Carolina Tar Heels guard Kendall Marshall (5) looks on during practice the day before the semifinals of the midwest region of the 2012 NCAA men
Kendall Marshall playing for the Phoenix Suns goes together like bacon, lettuce, and tomatoes or meat and potatoes. I can see Kendall dishing out assists to Channing Frye as he spots up at the three-point line. It was rumored that Dallas was interested in Kendall because they wanted him to be the heir to the point guard position after Jason Kidd retires. Well, I guess that Mark Cuban had other thoughts. The Mavs drafted Zeller, then sent him to the Cavs. I know. I’m on a roll with the rhyming, but there’s a reason. Several Tar Heels are going to be playing in the NBA next season. I expect for the projected starting lineup of the Phoenix Suns to be Steve Nash (if he stays; remember he is a free agent), Shannon Brown, Jared Dudley, Channing Frye, and Marcin Gortat. If Steve Nash bolts to another team (which is possible; he wants a ring on it!), then Kendall Marshall will be the projected starting point guard for the Phoenix Suns. I do not see too much of a learning curve for Marshall. The president of the “Pass-First” movement already has a following. Here on Tobacco Road, we know what Marshall is going to bring. He is a true point guard, who happens to be most humble cat I know, he loves fresh kicks, hanging out with friends and family, and being a big bro. Congrats Kendall! See ya in the NBA Rookie vs. Sophomore game in February, 2013.
