UNC Basketball Recruiting: Jalen Lindsey a Lifelong Tar Heel Fan

Jalen Lindsey grew up a life long North Carolina fan said the high school sophomore. Lindsey is a small forward for Christ Presbyterian Academy in Nashville, Tennessee. He is a recruit for the Class of 2014 and a star basketball player that everyone should be on the lookout for. He ranks sixth of all small forwards, sixth regionally and second in his state.

However, the lifelong Carolina fan has acknowledged he doesn’t have an offer from UNC yet, but if he gets one, you can bet Carolina will play a major role his recruitment. And while he hasn’t had an offer from UNC yet, it’s worth noting that it is still very early in the Class 0f 2014 recruiting process.

“When I was growing up it was always North Carolina (who I liked),” Lindsey told the National Recruiting Spotlight. “They’ve always had a real good history, a lot of good players who have went there and that really inspired me. I really like Coach Williams and I’ve always like the team, period.”

“It impacts my recruitment a little bit, they’re always going to be high on the list if they ever offer because I’ve always liked UNC. They’re definitely always going to be high on the list either way.”

So far Alabama, Memphis, NC State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt have shown interesting in the Class of 2014 recruit with Kentucky beginning to make a push for Lindsey. However, if Coach Williams and the Tar Heels make him an offer, I’d be shocked if he didn’t choose Chapel Hill.

He is still very early in his recruiting processes and has only been able to visit a few select schools. He’s also a long time away from making a commitment. “I don’t have a timetable right now; it’s early in the process,” he said. “I’m not really thinking about it right now, I”m going to wait until junior year to really start thinking about college.”
